Project description online

the A chair is my slightly provocative answer to the common typology of office chairs. it is made out of solid beech-wood only and just needs one single screw. it is assembled and disassembled in less than a minute but still extremely rigid. and durable. yes, it is probably not that comfortable to sit on it for 12 straight hours, but i dont want people to do that.In my opinion office chairs nowadays seem more like machines rather than appealing pieces of furniture. The desire to work longer without a aching back results in highly-ergonomical chair-designs but also leads to a massive effort in terms of production, material and aesthetics and mostly in a huge amount of components of many different materials.and i never understood the reason. sitting is bad for your health anyway. I wanted to use this project as an opportunity to knock down the complex object of an office chair by really simplifying it in all terms and at the same time trying to create a nice, unobtrusive piece of furniture with a strong character.I analyzed all the different functions and mechanisms of usual office chairs while trying to filter out the most important ones. i got rid of everything which has to do with adjusting height/angles/resistance etc. because from my experience and observations its mostly (if at all) used once and never again and it also recquires a lot of complex parts, which i wanted to avoid.
The A chair turns, has three legs, one screw and is made out of one single material
