Projektbeschreibung online

The seminar „Less Aestehtics – More Ethics“ explored the opportunities and constraints of architectural professionals to reconsider their role within society. Due to the various crisis, the classical professional self-understanding is being questioned, also in Europe. Where as the perspectives of young graduates in the northwestern European countries are still outlined by classical forms of employment, the situation in the southern countries is much different: Now forms of organizations need to be found and new fields of action need to be explored. Thus, many architects question the impact of their work as part of a neoliberal market logic and reconsider their role in society.
In our seminar, students from various cultural, national and professional backgrounds researched and discussed the new challenges for the architectural profession that come along with the economic, political and ecological crises we’re facing these days. Rereading and discussion various theoretical and practical approaches from last century, they designed a pop-up installation, that invites the visitors of the Summaery to follow their thoughts and going the discussion.
