Project description online
WITHIN FOUR WALLS will explore the borders of public and private space. From the inside of the studio, to the outside of the city centre and everything in between, showcasing the many ways that public art can be presented. Within the walls of M14, previous projects from (UN)SOUNDS OF BUCHENWALD and HOTEL LEIPZIG will be displayed alongside new interventions inside the space. We will also investigate the site-specific approach and take work to the streets of Weimar, emphasising the broadness and range that Public Art and New Artistic Strategies has to offer.

Between Weimar and Athens
What can be contained within four walls? An indoor space is turning into a VR platform bridging two different private spaces, of different regions through a live acoustic practice. What is to be explored here is the notion of off-spaces; how the use of sound creates and accommodates psychic and physical spaces, and how a space becomes the host and the guest, and vise versa.

By walking a determined route in the city center of Weimar and transiting with limited access to the visual sense while holding a mirror that points up, and guiding the trajectory solely with what’s reflected on its surface, an understanding of the accessibility for the pedestrians in the urban space aims to be reached.
